Clarksburg Cluster 5k

To start off the 2011-2012 school year, the nine PTA/PTSAs within the MCPS Clarksburg cluster are joining together to host a fundraising 5K Fun Run/Walk. This first-time ever event will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at William B. Gibbs Elementary at 8:00 AM with a 3.1 mile course through the Milestone Community.

We are working together to raise funds for PTA/PTSA educational/enrichment programs for the children within our cluster. Therefore, we invite all students, families, staff and friends to come out to walk or run and support any of the nine schools PTA/PTSA within the Clarksburg cluster, as well as promote a healthy lifestyle with your family and friends!

(Walkers, please stand behind runners) - The run/walk should take about 45 to 60 minutes.

1k FUN RUN (Mr. Wells and Rocky Hill Middle Schoolers)

The 1k for all those participating will begin at 9:30 am on the school field. Mr. Wells, Rocky Hill M.S. PE teacher and his middle school volunteers will set up a course for the children participating in the 1k. Please bring your children for line up at 9:15 am. There will be a Drink More Water Station for the 1k on the school field. Snacks and water bottles for the 1k participants will be on the field for pickup after the children have finished the 1k course.

PARKING:

If you are driving to the Fun Run, we ask that you please park at the Waters House or on the side streets (Sun Garden Court, Hawks Nest Lane and Eagle View Way). Please try not to park on the 5k Fun Run Course. The school parking lots will be blocked off. We will have volunteers directing you where to park. If you are within walking distance of the school, we ask that you please walk as parking will be limited.

School restrooms will not be open. There will be four porta potties near the front parking lot of the school.

CLEAN-UP

We ask that after the run is over that everyone please take a moment and help clean up the neighborhood community and school grounds. We appreciate everyone’s help.

Each of the Cluster Schools will have a Fundraising table with their school wares to sell. Please stop by each table to see what is available for purchase. Please support your schools!!!
